Overview & result
jev-seo is a Rust command-line SEO and GEO toolkit that also runs as a 15-tool MCP server. The repository describes 58-rule audits, site crawls, AI citation checks, rank drift tracking and CI gates. Free search data comes from DuckDuckGo, and semantic scores from Jev sit behind a per-run budget flag that defaults to $0.25.
From the original post
Free Rust SEO and GEO toolkit powered by TypeSafe Jev: 58-rule audits, site crawls, AI citation checks, rank drift, CI gates, 15-tool MCP. Zero cost.
How Jev fits in the loop
- Install one Rust binary with cargo or a release tarball.
- Local and live checks run 58 rules across crawl, on-page, content, links, structured data, AI access, performance and security.
- Jev answers typed questions about intent, GEO and page quality as Choice, Score or Noul with confidence gates.
- Weak answers are printed as [verify] or dropped; the same tools are exposed over a 15-tool MCP server.
How to reproduce
- Inspect the original showcase and source material at https://github.com/AkashPriyadarshii/jev-seo
- Verify the bounded prompt and input candidate schema configured for Jev
- Benchmark decision latency and classification accuracy against baseline models
Why this build matters
Jev is used as a typed evaluator with a spending cap, not as a text generator, and the free path needs no paid SEO API.
Limitations
- Large live crawls sample at a page limit (default 50).
- The README says the heuristic rules are editorial conventions, not Google ranking factors.
- Jev thresholds are confidence-gated, not tuned on human labels, and the tool does not measure traffic or rankings.
