DEMO / RECORDING
Overview & result
Droidrun's open-source agent observes a real Android phone, asks Jev to choose a bounded operation and target, then executes that action through Mobilerun. The repository includes a studio, CLI, traces and a playable Uber navigation demo.
From the original post
One goal. A real Android phone. Jev makes the decisions.
How Jev fits in the loop
- Observe the Android device and collect indexed controls and installed apps.
- Ask Jev in one request to choose OPEN_APP, TAP, TYPE_TEXT, scroll, navigation, WAIT, DONE or BLOCKED and a compatible target.
- Validate the fresh target, execute through Mobilerun and observe the device again.
How to reproduce
- Clone the public repository and configure Mobilerun and TypeSafe API keys with an available Android device.
- Run pnpm devices, pnpm doctor and pnpm dev to open the local studio, or use pnpm demo dark-theme --reset for the documented utility task.
- Inspect the action trace and verify the final device state; a Jev DONE answer alone is not proof of completion.
Why this build matters
Shows a concrete observe → bounded decision → action loop on an actual Android device, with explicit checks for stale targets and task completion.
Limitations
- The Uber video reaches payment selection; it does not demonstrate a completed booking.
- The author notes that app state, locale, network and model version can change the trace; Mobilerun device charges are separate.
